Huge map:
It had all the newest and greatest cars and thousands of different customization that could be added to the cars. It also brought in the concept of the blacklist. The blacklist was an list of 15 of the most wanted racers in Rockport City. You main objective is to race every racer, beat them all and become the most wanted.
The blacklist:
The only game that came close would be Underground 2 because you could customize the vehicles even more then. the customizing abilities seemed to be endless, I loved decking my SUV with huge rims, spinners, a huge stereo system in my trunk and underglow. That was the most fun I had while playing that game.
I think the 2005 version of Most Wanted is much better than the 2012. Sure the 2012 has better graphics and faster cars but you can't beat the customizations and the amazing story line. Plus the 2005 had a huge map filled with hundreds of streets to race on. Here is a link to a page that shows a pretty good discussion on this topic
